WUHAN, China (June 26, 2017) - Wuhan Optoelectronics Forum No. 129 was successfully held in Auditorium A101 at Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) in the afternoon of June 26. Prof. Yuefeng Ji from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications delivered an exciting talk entitled Flexible Control Technology in Optical Networks. Dr. Jian Wang, from Optoelectronic Devices and Integration Division of WNLO chaired the forum. Dr. Song Xia, Chair of WNLO committee, awarded Prof. Ji the forum medal.
The high-speed broadband optical network is an important part of national information infrastructure, in which flexible control technology is one of the challenges. The talk reviews the main characteristics and the evolution path of flexible control technology. It also analyzes the core requirements, key problems, basic architecture, solutions and system applications, especially in the three network paradigms (high-capacity optical interconnection, radio over fiber access networks, optical networks for datacenter). Finally, it concludes the future development trends.
Yuefeng Ji, professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, executive dean of School of Optoelectronic Information, executive deputy director of State Key Lab of Information Photonics and Optical Communications, member of Discipline Appraisal Group in Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, recipient of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, chief scientist of the national 973 program, chief expert of the national 863 program, recipient of the new century national Hundred-Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project. The main teaching and research directions are broadband networks and lightwave technologies. He obtained some national awards including National Technology Invention Award, Science and Technology Advance Award and National Teaching Achievement Award.
