WUHAN, China (January 7, 2015) - Wuhan Optoelectronics Forum No. 91 was successfully held in Auditorium A101 at Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) in the afternoon of January 7.
The report will introduce the progress of the quantum physics and the achievement of construction and manipulation of the single quantum system. By introducing the work of the Nobel Prize in physics of 2012, the report will interpret the advancement of future quantum technology including quantum telecommunication, quantum computer, atomic interferometer and gyroscope and quantum metrology.
Prof Zhang Weiping is an outstanding scientist in Quantum Optics and Atomic and Optical physics. He has authored and co-authored 150 journal articles, including 25 in Physics Review Letters. His entire publications have been cited for 2500 times. He has received numerous honors award. They include: Distinguished professor of The Cheung Kong Scholars Program; Distinguished Oversea Young Scientists China from National Funds; Leading Scientist for National Basic Research Program of china; Member of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in Astrology and Physics; Member of National Scientific Funding Committee in Mathematics and Physics; Member of National Basic Research Project in Quantum Manipulation from Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China; Technological Contribution of National Eleventh Five-Year Plan; Leading Talent in Shanghai, and Leading Scientist in Shanghai. He is also the vice present of the Quantum Optics Section of the Chinese Physical Society; executive member of Shanghai Physical Society; outstanding referee of American Physical Society in 2009 and editorial board of Physical Review Letters.
