WUHAN, China (October 18, 2020) - Wuhan Optoelectronics Forum No. 170 was successfully held in Auditorium A101 at Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) in the morning of October 18. Prof. Jing Liqiang from Heilongjiang University delivered an exciting talk entitled Taking Research Progress of Photocatalytic Semiconductors Based on the Regulation of Photogenerated Charges. Prof. Wang Mingkui, from WNLO chaired the forum
.
Prof. Jing Liqiang first explained the research background of photocatalysis to solve environmental and energy problems and the main strategy of his research group in constructing high-efficiency photocatalysts. A series of modification strategies based on semiconductor-based photoelectric charge regulation have been successfully developed. By using inorganic acid surface modification strategies such as phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid and boric acid to improve the adsorption of oxygen by nano-semiconductors such as TiO2, it can effectively promote the capture of photogenerated electrons by adsorbed oxygen. Furthermore, the composite modification strategy using wide band gap TiO2 or ZnO and other nano-semiconductors can effectively improve the high-level electron utilization. By appropriately adjusting the electronic energy level platform of different levels, the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers of nano-semiconductors such as Fe2O3 or BiVO4 with remarkable visible light response and g-C3N4 organic semiconductors can be significantly improved. The research work of Professor Jing's group will provide theoretical and practical basis for developing efficient environmental photocatalysis technology and revealing key issues in the conversion of environmental pollutants.
Jing Liqiang is a professor and deputy dean of the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials at the Heilongjiang University (HD), and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Functional Inorganic Materials Chemistry of the Ministry of Education. His research interests mainly focus on the photo-generated charge properties of semiconductor nanomaterials and environmental and energy photocatalysis. He was invited to serve as a standing committee member of the Photocatalysis Professional Committee of the Chinese Photographic Society, and an editorial board member of important international SCI publications such as "Scientific Reports" and "Materials Research Bulletin".
At Heilongjiang University, He has so far presided over more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial-level important projects, including key projects of the National Natural Science Joint Fund, the preliminary research project of the National Major Basic Research 973 Program, and the National Natural Science Fund Major Research Program Cultivation Project. He has been granted 11 Chinese invention patents, and 2 first prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Award (Natural Science). He has continuously become the 2014, 2015, and 2016 China Highly Cited Scholars released by Elsevier.
